Excerpt from The One – The Book of Life, Death and Rebirth

When you are facing darkness, you begin to feel afraid. You are afraid because you are human and if you weren’t afraid, you wouldn’t want to get to know the nature of things. This is the only way you can stay alive.

Then after a while you understand that being afraid of darkness and death is really boring and monotonous and you already know all its tricks. You realize that the devil and his temptations are very predictable and they never give, they only take.

He may be tingling, squeezing, pushing you deep under but you can quickly get to know him like a bad lover.

You will get used to it. You will understand that he is only threatening you but he has no real power over you.

When he is lying in your bed, parroting the same phrases over and over, it will no longer move you, you have had enough of the threatening, and the fear it used to evoke will evaporate.

That’s when you must face him and put him out.

When you have understood that he is just a pathetic fellow who will never be able to conquer the eternal one in you.
